Five natural reservations protect an array of unique fauna and flora: The Cerbicales Islands, shrine of the upper-crust Cormorants, The Lavezzi Islands , where 68 kinds of fish were listed. The Finocchiarla Islands, Scandola, the first nationally recognised marine reservation in France. The Pond of Biguglia where 127 different kinds of aquatic birds nest.
The spring is full of the scent of flowers, and the wild beauty of the local vegetation.
