A feeling very strange you invades contemplating the waters of Bosphorus, channel between two seas which crosses Istanbul from north to south, the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. Here finishes Europe, here Asia began...A bridge on two continents, the city remembers it sometimes the Greeks for Byzantium, the Constantinople of the Roman empire of the East and the capital of sultans ottomans.

And always, "the" city by definition: that is more than 1000 years, being the already required the "city of cities". As for us, an expression we do-it not remained to designate the splendour and luxury "it is Byzantium ! ".

This city, to the shelter behind its walls, was, for generations, the place itself and the symbol of civilization. Fabulous concentration of intelligence and wealth, it has dazzled humanity for nine centuries...

Istanbul is both a Turkey in miniature and a cultural exception. Here, all the provinces and all trades are based in a cosmopolitan it.

It is the East against the West : a battle of titans and wedding of fire. The shores of Bosphorus are watching, sometimes jealous, and often twin. Just pass the bridge, as always for the start a new adventure...

But Turkey, this is not only Istanbul, there is also "the Castle of cotton", that is the literal translation of Pamukkale, is a natural site extraordinary: sources of hot water rich in limestone that have carved, over time, white natural basins … The streaming waters  continue to flow in cascade and the spectacle properly magical is beautiful to see and it is sweet to reach, because of course, it is usefull to soak the feet or even to swim. The waters burst forth to 53° C and have therapeutic virtues for the rheumatism. Not far from there, on the plateau, you will go admire the great necropolis of Hierapolis that was founded in the second century av. J. C. by Eumène II, the king of Pergamos. This necropolis is one of the most extensive East.

It was also, located at the end of a peninsula which extends the Gökova gulf, "Bodrum the White" which has become one of the capitals of tourism Turkish, rendez-vous of many artists. Known in the history under the name of Halicarnassus, it was founded by the settlers dorians. At Castel of Saint-Pierre, you will admire the few remnants of the Mausoleum which was one of the seven Wonders of the world. Further, the theater will offer you one of the most beautiful views of Bodrum to contemplate at sunset. During the day, “rendez-vous” on the beaches that surround the peninsula: Gümbet, the closest, Ortakent, in the middle of the pines and cypresses, Torba and Turgutreis in the north.

Or, the village of fishermen Ayvalik, located in front of the island of Lesbos. The coastline very cut, the beautiful sandy beaches, the whites villages which keep their traditions, and the very mild climate even at the heart of the summer, make a seaside resort ideal and warm atmosphere.

Without forgetting, Bergama which extends to the interior in a plain planted with olive trees. The acropolis and the temple of Trajan located at the foot of the city, are there to remind Pergamos, the ancient capital of the Roman province of Asia. This city which, formerly with Alexandria, in particular in the field of letters with the invention of parchment, has retained some fine vestiges including a theater well restored and a sanctuary dedicated to Aesculapius.

Miletus, once to the edge of the sea, with not less than four ports, this place was one of the cities the most powerful of Asia Minor. From this ancient hegemony ,remains today a theater which could contain up to 15 000 people, the thermes of Faustina and the door Sacred which not lacking of pace.

Kusadasi, "the Island of birds", located in the heart of Ionia, concentrates all what we can rely for fun and relax during holidays. Its hotels, clubs, its restaurants, shops and its discotheques are synonyms of distractions and water-sports multiple. As the region is, moreover, one of the richest in archaeological sites, with particular Ephesus, Kusadasi constitutes a pole of attraction incomparable.

Priene, this small hellenistic which part of the confederation of twelve cited, was built in a very sophisticated geometric plan. Its site hooked to the mountain is especially beautiful. It should be noted his theater that retains, in spite of alterations suffered by the Romans, its character Greek. The temple of Athena and the bouleutérion, with head of bulls carved, are also magnificent.

And without omit, Ankara, the capital of the country since 1st October 1923, thanks to which broke Atatürk thus, with the Ottoman tradition whose capital was Istanbul. Ankara is a city with modern and ancient ottoman traditions with many vestiges Roman and a Byzantine fortress well conserved. Ankara is visited mainly for its Museum of the Old Anatolian Civilizations which is fabulous and represents, with works of art exceptional, 6000 years of history.

And still full area as: Nevsehir, which is the entrance door of Cappadocia. In the city, the seldjoukide castel perched on a culminanting point  and the mosque Kursunlu built for the Grand Vizier Damat Ibrahim Pasa  are among the historic buildings still standing. There are three million years ago, the violent eruptions of volcanoes Erciyes (3916 meters) and Hasan (3268 meters) have covered the plateau of Nevshir, with tuff, a soft stone formed of lava, ash and mud. The erosion of this roche fragile by wind and rain has created a landscape surreal and spectacular: rocky cones, the summits flat stones headdresses, ravines carved, the whole ranging from green clear to gray and red to gold...

Konya, Kayseri, Avanos, Ephesus, Didymes... are also key passages for understanding and love this fabulous country that Turkey is.....
